Reality on the ground so far has shown that not all organizations successfully implement well-SIM. One result of the audit on the implementation of the SIM in Indonesia shows that the most common phenomenon is the occurrence of patchy SIM applications, including the failure of implementation andphenomenon of "patchwork" in SIAKAD. This is evident by the number of PT which has still to develop and implement SIAKAD, but the results are not satisfactory to date. One of the database role, namely as a source of Opera-for SIM, implying that the database used must be capable ofmeet the needs of various information and data for its users, both for present and future. The design of the database schema should be designed in such a way that has a high quality. Related to this, there are many aspects that affect the successful implementation of the SIM within the organization, including the aspects of organization, management, conduct, ortechnology that includes hardware, software, engineeringsystems, databases.With reference to the results of research Olaf Herden (2001), this study analyzes the quality aspects of the database schema on academic databases that are used in ISTA. The analysis was performed on the logical design using a logic model in the form of business rules used in the ISTA. Aspects of qualityschema to be analyzed include the 9 (nine) criteria, namely correctness, consistency, relevance, scope, level of detail, completeness, minimality, abilities of integration, as well as readability. The result is expected to provide recommendations that steps may be performed by the manager / person in charge of academic databases in ISTA.Based on the analysis, generally can be stated that the academic database schema ISTA has a lower quality. This condition will be the potential for the emergence of serious problems in days to come. And therefore, it should be done immediately improve efforts to avoid the emergence of more complex problems and more difficult to handle.
